12th Annual Phil Galvano Golf Classic
The 12th Annual Phil Galvano Golf Classic will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Legacy Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch. The Golf Classic is a memorial Tournament honoring the late Phil Galvano, who earned the title of ‘golf coach to the stars,’ having taught Johnny Carson, Joe Dimaggio, Carol Burnett, Nelson Rockefeller and Bob Hope.
During the May 2007 event, the Golf Classic raised more than $95,000 to benefit the Manatee Education Foundation, which provides enhanced educational opportunities and innovative programming for the teachers and students of Manatee County public schools.
